I am Tara, and I'm a wife to a mechanical engineer, and a mother of 4 teenage children that are the same age for a month! Craziness, I know! A few of my children have sensitive skin and I wanted to start making handmade goat milk soap that didn't have all the nasty extra chemicals and preservatives to help them. I also wanted to be able to build something of my own and be able to work from home so I could spend these last few years I have with them here. This has exploded into something way bigger than I ever imagined it would be, and I am so grateful to all of you who help support my dream. I enjoy being creative as well, so you'll find that creativity in my soap designs. It truly is my form of art. My husband, David, is my biggest fan and he helps me with everything. Then we also have Carly. She is a good friend that helps me design, make and package the artisan soap and other products, among many other things. My best friend, Stephanie, of Jones Creek Farm taught me how to make soap, and I wouldn't be doing any of this without her help!
Rose City Suds soaps are made with tons of love and amazing luxurious ingredients. We do not use filler oils, such as palm oil, and strive to only use nourishing butters and oils that are good for not only your skin, but also the environment. Our base recipe that most of our soaps are made of includes local, fair trade goat milk, rich mango and shea butters, olive oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, avocado oil, and castor oil. We use micas, clays, and charcoal as colorant, and only buy from reputable soap supply companies. Our fragrances come from these same companies, and I only purchase ones that are free of phthalates. Also, in my quest to be as eco friendly as possible, all of our packaging and shipping materials are recycled, recyclable, biodegradable, and/or compostable.
